The cadet program was originally intended by the CAF (Commemorative Air Force) to get youth involved with America's aviation history. That original intention is the same today as it was when the Cadet program was started.
Dixie Wing cadets participate in unit functions such as World War II Heritage Days and The Great Georgia Airshow. Aside from helping at events there is never any shortage of things to do around the hangar from cleaning up oil, to helping push out the L-16 and even getting to go up for rides.
