Calling all hands - The Dixie Wing needs your help!
There are always lots of things that need to be done around the hangar. This includes aircraft maintenance, hangar maintenance, marketing, working airshows, helping with the education program, hangar dance or other projects, fundraising, or even just sweeping up a bit. This page lists a few of the jobs on which we could use your assistance. If you see a job that you'd like to help out with, call Col Jim Buckley or the person specifically mentioned in the ad.
P-63 restoration - We've got lots of work left to do on this project. We especially need people with machinists experience, sheet metal experience, and electrical systems experience. Even if you don't know much about aircraft maintenance but are interested, come get involved. There's something you can do, we promise. If you'd like to help with the P-63, contact Col Tex Layton.
Hangar Museum Curator/Educational Program - Educators Wanted! We're trying to really build our educational program as well as the museum aspects of our hangar. This is going to be a big job and we're going to need lots of help. If you can assist with this, contact Col Bill Baldwin or Col Chris Madrid.
Hangar Maintenance & Custodial Assistance -- A clean and well-maintained hangar is a safe hanger. Let us know if you can help with these ongoing projects.
PX Maintenance -- There are several small projects in the PX trailer. The generator needs annual maintenance. Two dog tag machines need attention. If you have electrical abilities, a longer cord is needed for the fan and the running lights need attention. Metal work is needed around the doors and the trim along the top of the back door needs attention. New paint and stenciling is also on our list of items to be done. If you can help with any of these projects, please contact Col Marsha Daly, PX Officer.
